The Loss of a Child is Difficult.

Who thinks of losing a child?  When you first find out you're pregnant that is the farthest thought from your mind.  You imagine all the wonderful things in store for your growing family with this new precious baby - this life growing inside of you.   From my own experience, I was on top of the world.  We were going to have our third child.  Our other two children are nine and twelve so this third pregnancy was quite a shock for us.  We were ecstatic but scared, nervous yet joyful.  We were on a new path in our lives with a baby coming into the family.  But, all that changed on March 11th when we went to the birthing center to deliver little Emma.  That's when our world seemed to fall apart.  But, in the midst of the despair and grief, we found everlasting hope and joy.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.

We found our hope and joy in Jesus Christ, especially through our loss of Emma.  Through her death, our lives took on new meaning with a new perspective.  We learned to let our light shine, to let God's love shine through us so that we could be a blessing to others.

You can have this hope and joy as well.  It's easy.  In fact, it's probably one of the easiest decisions you could ever make.  All you need to do is take Christ's hand.  He's offering it to you all the time, just take it and let Him ease your pain and suffering.  He'll give you the peace you need through your grief and despair.  Christ is the Light you seek as  you fumble in the darkness of grief, despair, loneliness, or whatever emotions you may be feeling.

Read my book, Shining Through the Grief - Memoirs of Emma's Mom, to understand how we were able to find the light of God through our darkest hours.
